Eddie and JD met in September of ’99 at, where else? A rock show. Love at first sight doesn’t really make a lot of sense to them since it kinda felt like they were already in love when they met. Instant chemistry flew and they were married inside of 3 months at a secret ceremony in, where else? Vegas, baby!
A few days before Christmas in 2000, they welcomed the first of their 3 kids, Quattro. After the birth and a move to California and quickly turning around and moving back to Seattle, they toured together as a family for the better part of 6 years. In 2009, Elvis arrived and she has been kicking their asses ever since. 2012 brought the world Zeke and he has really tied the room together.
Spending the last 14 years supporting his career with the Supersuckers, building a life and a home, they have decided to come together and make something awesome happen, as a family. This is just the beginning. With Eddie’s solo career and the Supersuckers touring the world 9 months out of the year, they are bridging the gap between their worlds. Hers as a writer/designer living in Seattle with their three kids and him a full time rock ‘n roller.
JD’s business, Yourmom206 is a design company based out of her home. Evenings and early mornings spent writing and afternoon naps for the kids leave her time to design and sew custom, one of a kind clothing which is all SPD sensitive. She is passionate about raising her kids hands on and will be taking on Homeschooling her soon to be kindergartner and 8th grader come fall. Having the weight of the household on her shoulders is not what does this woman in, it is the empty spot in the bed at night and that is all about to change.
Last summer Eddie Spaghetti was quoted as saying, “I was home 7 days in 9 months” and when the reality of it all hit them, they realized that would have to change. Not one for doing things the easy way, this ballsy family will soon leave their house in Seattle behind and take themselves, their three children and two dogs on a year long journey on the road. With touring as the main agenda, they look forward to time spent together backstage and on days off. The fact that it is an unknown territory for them (they don’t even camp!) hasn’t scared them a bit and the fact that many people have jumped on the nay-sayer bandwagon has made them want to do it even more.
So here we are, doing something new that we know very little about but I guess that is what you should know about us… we like to do new things all the time.
Boredom is something we don’t really believe in. We think that if you’re bored you are boring and well, who in the hell wants to be boring?
So we are starting a new journey, how it will end, we have no clue but what we do know is that it will be fun, we will do it together and it will be a part of our story.
We plan to document the experience in as many ways as we can and in order to do that we get the help from our lovely web guy, Jim and we will be learning things that no one in their right minds should have to learn, but hell, it has been kinda fun so far. Lots of cussing.
Come along and join this family as they take on the world! Or just the U.S. for now.
